The Judy Istock Butterfly Haven features a kaleidoscope of butterflies and birds with species from around the world. Learn about the importance of waterways in urban neighborhoods in River Works. Mysteries of the Marsh and the Istock Family Look-in Animal Lab provide a detailed look at our native wetlands and their residents. Three meticulously re-created environments in Wilderness Walkimmerse visitors in a prairie, savanna and sand dune. Birds of Chicago showcases more than 100 Illinois bird specimens dating back to the early 1900’s. Hands-on Habitat invites budding naturalists to explore the secret world of animal homes while the Extreme Green House explains how our homes are linked to nature. The Heritage of the Chicago Academy of Sciences celebrates the Academy’s rich history with artifacts from our archives and collections.
