Since 1807, the Portland Observatory has offered spectacular views of Portlandís busy harbor and served as a beloved symbol of the cityís rich maritime heritage. Named a National Historic Landmark in 2006, the Portland Observatory is the only known remaining historic maritime signal tower in the United States.
Guided tours available daily from Memorial Day weekend in late May through Columbus Day in mid-October. Our tours are educational and entertaining for the whole family. Donít forget your camera! Doors open at 10:00 am. Last tour departs at 4:30 pm. (Allow 45 minutes)
Sunset tours offered Thursday evenings July 23 - September 10, 2009 from 5:00 pm Ė 8:00 pm. Enjoy an extraordinary Maine sunset over Casco Bay. Amazing views from the observation deck will delight you as the sun sets behind the White Mountains. (Allow 45 minutes)
