Washington County Rural Heritage Museum Washington County Rural Heritage Museum The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum is located at the Washington County Agriculture Education Center. Visitors to the museum can relive a previous era when Washington County was primarily a farming community. Admission to the museum is free. The museum contains more than 2,000 items, most of which are on loan from or have been donated by local residents. Upon arrival, there is a short video to introduce visitors to the museum. Exhibits include a typical general store, examples of rural living (such as a farm kitchen, parlor, and country church), and examples of modes of travel (such as an original Conestoga wagon, sleighs, and sleds). Other exhibits contain equipment and artifacts used by local faarmers, and displays on butchering and dairying. |
