The Depot Museum is located in the 1907 headquarters of the Duluth & Iron Range Railroad, and highlights the early pioneering history of Lake County. Exhibits range from McDougal archeological dig artifacts and a Paleo-Indian display to the first shipment of Iron Ore from Minnesota and the vast logging companies from the turn of the 20th century.

Interactive activities for children - dress up in a firefighter's hat and coat and have your picture taken alongside the Smokey the Bear sign. See which rocks are magnetic and pick some real taconite to take home and share in school.

The Veteran's Room
Memorabilia dating back to the Civil War, on loan and donated by veterans, are on display. A special veteran's wall has commemorative bricks purchased in the name of individual veterans. These veterans are honored with a memorial plaque on the brick inscribed with their name and their military service information.
