Two Harbors Lighthouse Museum Two Harbors Lighthouse Museum The Two Harbors Light Station constructed in 1892 is the oldest operating light station in Minnesota and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lighthouse museum explores the development of Agate Bay. Self guided tours take you up the lighthouse tower's 47 stairs for magnificent lake and harbor views through the port holes. The Fog Horn building now contains the Lighthouse Museum Gift Shop with unique lighthouse and nautical gifts. The Assistant Keeper's house has a shipwreck exhibit and an interactive kiosk. It also contains period furnishings from the early 1900's. Also located on the grounds is a restored pilot house from the shipwrecked ore carrier, Frontenac. The Light Station is open for tours daily May-October. The Keeper's Quarters have been restored to their original splendor and are now open year round as the Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. |
