Founders Park is located in Springfield, Missouri it offers a great deal to the visitors of this historic park. It was created to show the history of Springfield. It offers a 250 seat Amphitheater with a 18’ by 30’ stage. It is wired for sound and light equipment to really put on a great show for the audience.
You can sit and have a picnic or check out the huge mural that shows the last 100 years of Springfield’s history.
The site is in the area of the original tree blaze made by John Polk Campbell in 1829, where the development of Springfield began. The site has previously served as the location for a stone quarry, a blacksmith shop, the Herman-Sanford Horse Collar Factory, the Silsby Stove and Hardware Company, a lumberyard, and a railroad right of way.
