A Sawmill was perhaps one of the first and most essential industrial needs in every newly settled community. This Sawmill was built to represent an early 20th century Western Reserve sawmill. While originally used for building restoration projects, its popularity quickly grew and it was soon operated for demonstrations. The Sawmill's blade is powered by a 1923 Frick and Company steam engine built in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. The steam engine is fired using scrap wood and is capable of producing pressure of up to 100 lbs. per square inch.
