Named for its original location, this Greek Revival style house was built in Stow, Ohio in 1852 and moved to Hale Farm in 1966. Watch as Hale Farm spinners and weavers demonstrate the production of textiles similar to those made by early Western Reserve families. Using wool from Hale Farm's sheep, the spinner must wash and card the wool before it can be spun. Different natural plant materials enable the white wool to be dyed into almost any color of the rainbow. Once dyed the wool is woven into colorful, decorative and useful fabrics by skilled hands on a loom. In addition to working with wool, staff will share the intricate process of weaving linen products from the fibers of the Flax plant.
