Located in Ohio's beautiful Western Reserve region in the village of Hiram is the graciously appointed Hiram Inn. Owned by Hiram College, it offers a great getaway from the hustle and bustle in this quiet little village. It is less than an hours drive from Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown. Whether you are coming for a romantic weekend or a business retreat, the inn is prepared to meet all your needs.

When Robert Merwin served on the Hiram College Board of Trustee's, he lamented the fact that visitors to the college had to drive to Aurora to find an overnight accommodation.  In 1995, Mr. Merwin, a 1936 graduate, and his wife, Betty, gave a $1.2 million gift to the college to build an inn at the corner of SR 700 and SR 82, the site of the Young House. Built by Thomas Fitch Young and his wife, the 1824 original house served as a tavern and stagecoach stop on the Warren-Cleveland route and was also the local post office. Renovated and expanded in 1996 into the Hiram Inn, it remains an example of New England style architecture.

The Inn today has 12 guest rooms, some in the original portion of the house. Each room is named for a person important to either the village or college and has a history of the person the room is named after. They are each unique and decorated in the style of the Western Reserve. Rooms feature cable TV, air conditioning, dual telephone lines, bathrobes, coffee maker, data ports, and voice mail. Select rooms have whirlpool baths and/or gas fireplaces. The Inn has received a 3 Diamond rating from AAA. A Deluxe Continental Breakfast is included in your stay. Enjoy fresh Belgian waffles with assorted toppings, sausage biscuits, breakfast burritos, bagels, Danishes, muffins, fruits, and juices, teas, and gourmet coffee. The courteous staff also offers bell service, a full service cocktail bar, turn-down service, in-room masso-therapy, and tee-time arrangements.

The Inn offers a great place for special events for 10 to 200 people. For corporate retreats, conferences, reunions, receptions, or social gatherings the Hiram Inn can provide you with accommodations and catering provided by the Hiram College Catering. The staff is here to help plan your event and will be there to assure that your gathering is a complete success. They can assist in arranging on or off site meals, entertainment, and also your audiovisual needs.
