Location of Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park America's only all water cavern and wildlife park is nestled in Central Pennsylvania just minutes from I-80. The caves were discovered many centuries ago by the Seneca Indians. The cavern was opened to the public in 1885 when the former hotel was built. Today, Penn's Cave and the Penn's Cave House (former hotel) have been placed on the National Register of historic Places. Penn's Cave has a thousand acres of forest and fields carefully preserved as a natural habitat for birds, plants, and animals. They grow most of the feed for the animals they have here. The tour of the wildlife park is a 90 minute tour on a safari bus. Your driver will be sure to stop where you will be able to see the animals and will answer any questions you may have. You will want to allow plenty of time for your visit. The cavern tour is by boat and lasts an hour. Penn's Cave also has a snack bar serving Longhorn beef or Elk burgers. You can also choose to picnic in the natural pastoral setting. Click below to check out the cave and wildlife park. |
