Angelic Inn Bed and Breakfast
The Angelic Inn Bed and Breakfast
"If everyday was Christmas our hearts would be filled with loving, giving, and sharing everyday, not just at Christmas." Your hostess, Darlene Elders, has the inn decorated for Christmas all year. Come experience the joy and celebrate as if everyday was Christmas. She has restored this historic mansion to the splendor it once held.
The mansion was originally built by Colonel Moorhead C. Kennedy, President of the Cumberland Valley Railroad and Vice President of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Colonel Kennedy's grandson, "Mike" Moorhead Kennedy III, was a hostage in Tehran for 144 days. Louisa Kennedy, Mike's wife, received a Doctorate of Public Service by Wilson College for her release efforts on behalf of the hostages.
Darlene is the fourth owner of the house and began her restoration in 1898. She held a grand opening in August 1993 where 1200 people came to see the inn. The restoration had not been completed and Darlene was ready to give up, but the overwhelming support she received urged her to continue.
Today the bed and breakfast has eleven rooms for you to choose from. They all have lovely Victorian furnishings and are air-conditioned with private baths. Some have whirlpool baths, steam sauna, fireplaces, and other special amenities. A full breakfast is served to the guests preferences. There is a Butler's pantry that is kept stocked with refreshments all day. Ask about special "Murder Mystery" weekend packages.
The decor speaks of romance and the inn caters to honeymooners and anniversaries. Come for a romantic getaway and enjoy a cozy room, beautiful decor, and lovely gardens overlooking a rippling stream.
