Fairfield Inn 1757 Restaurant
Located in the Fairfield Inn, the Mansion House Restaurant and Squire Miller's Tavern serve a wide selection of classically prepared and artistically presented dishes. The hotel's two chefs and their team offer an imaginative menu of grilled and roasted game, pastas, seafood and mouth-watering steaks.
The restaurant opens onto a delightful front porch perfect for spring through autumn dining. Open log fires blaze in the hearths during the winter months. Enjoy a quiet nightcap in the parlor. The banquet salon is perfect for catered business meetings, receptions, lunches, and dinners.
On July 4, 1863, after the Battle of Gettysburg, the Confederate troops retreated through Fairchild and stopped here at the inn for nourishment. General Lee dined on Hearty Ham and Bean Soup, a mixture of greens salad, Chicken n' Biscuits served with a thick Chicken Gravy, and fresh Backed Seasonal Pie.; Today, you can enjoy the same meal at the inn. These menu selections are from recipes that have been handed down from Innkeeper to Innkeeper for generations.
Sunday Brunch is served from 11 am to 3 pm with a three course prix fixe menu. Your first course is a choice of fruit cobbler, salad or soup. The colonial recipe Hearty Ham and Bean Soup is delicious as are the other choices. Your main entree is a wide variety of choices. There are choices of Eggs Benedict, Prime Rib, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, and the Fairfield Inn's Famous Chicken and Biscuits as well as many other wonderful choices. For your dessert you can choose one of the specials or have a Hot Fudge Sundae.
