This 1809 Civil War home is located on 30 peaceful acres
on the battlefield south of Gettysburg. Your experiences in Gettysburg
will be completed with a stay in this Civil War theme bed and breakfast.
Everyday you can join in on a hands-on history demonstration. Each day is
a different program such as learning to fire the black powder muskets or trying
on various uniforms.
Choose from eight beautiful guest rooms decorated in
themes reflecting Civil War units which fought here on the South Cavalry
Battlefield. There are four standard rooms, each with a queen size bed.
The other four specialty rooms each have something different to offer such as
fireplaces, sitting rooms, and/or extra beds. All eight rooms have
private baths, telephones, and air conditioning.
The parlor is a comfortable room where you can relax after
a busy day around town. Lovely furnishings include an 1878 antique piano.
You can sit back and enjoy a movie on the television. Friday nights in the
parlor you are invited to join in for fun ghost stories and parlor games.
Breakfast is a delicious two course affair that starts
with fresh baked goods and fruits. Your second course may be meats,
potatoes, eggs or one of the inns specialties. Enjoy Pennsylvania Dutch
Apple Cobbler Coffee Cake, Red White and Blueberry Pancakes, or Orange Flowers
in Orange Cream Sauce.
Come for a visit during the winter months for a special
event weekend such as Murder Mystery Weekend, Dinner with President Lincoln,
holiday specials, or the Civil War Innkeepers Ball. Ask about all the
different special events when planning your stay.
Come enjoy a quiet get away in this lovely country
setting. Whether planning a study of the battle, a weekend of romance, or
a day of antique shopping, your stay here will be one to remember.
