Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon onion seasoning
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
dash red pepper
2 eggs, slightly beaten
Directions:
Add crumbs to milk and seasonings and allow to stand until the milk is
absorbed. Beat to a smooth pulp, then combine with eggs and meat and mix
only until blended. Pack lightly into a pan and bake in a 350-degree F.
oven about 1 hour.
Makes 4 to 6 servings
Variations:
- Instead of pork, substitute 1/2 pound pork sausage meat and cut salt 1/2 teaspoon, omit pepper.
- Substitute tomato juice, meat stock or diluted canned soup for milk in the above recipe.
- Substitute all lamb for beef and pork, add garlic seasoning
- Use 1 pound veal instead of beef in above recipe.
- Use 1 pound smoked ham in place of beef in above recipe, reduce salt to 1/2 teaspoon.
