1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon onion seasoning
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
dash red pepper
2 eggs, slightly beaten


Add crumbs to milk and seasonings and allow to stand until the milk is absorbed. Beat to a smooth pulp, then combine with eggs and meat and mix only until blended. Pack lightly into a pan and bake in a 350-degree F. oven about 1 hour.

Makes 4 to 6 servings


  1. Instead of pork, substitute 1/2 pound pork sausage meat and cut salt 1/2 teaspoon, omit pepper.
  2. Substitute tomato juice, meat stock or diluted canned soup for milk in the above recipe.
  3. Substitute all lamb for beef and pork, add garlic seasoning
  4. Use 1 pound veal instead of beef in above recipe.
  5. Use 1 pound smoked ham in place of beef in above recipe, reduce salt to 1/2 teaspoon.
