2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon melted shortening


Sift the dry ingredients; add the bacon; and blend. Stir in the egg, slightly beaten and combined with the milk and melted shortening. Beat until free from lumps; and transfer to a well oiled muffin pans. Bake in a hot oven, 400 degrees F. for 25 minutes or until the muffins are brown on top.
