Ingredients: 4 eggs Directions: Separate the eggs; beat the yolks until light and lemon colored and the whites until stiff. Add the sugar to the yolks; and beat 3 minutes; then add the dry ingredients sifted together and the aniseed flavoring. Last, fold in the beaten egg whites. Turn into a well oiled shallow pan; and bake in an oven at 325 degrees F. about 45 minutes. The next day, cut the bread into inch slices; dust with powdered sugar; and bake again in an oven at 325 degrees F. until a delicate brown. |
