2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons shortening
1/2 cup grated American cheese
7/8 cup milk


Sift the dry ingredients; and work in the shortening and cheese. When well mixed, toss the dough on a floured board; and pat to 1/2 inch thickness. Shape into rounds with a biscuit cutter; place in an oiled pan; brush with milk; and bake in a very hot oven, 450 degrees F. from 12 to 15 minutes.
