2 cups sifted flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
4 teaspoons butter
3/4 cups (scant) milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla


1 tablespoon flour
6 tablespoons light brown flour
1 1/2 teaspoon butter, melt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla


Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Beat the egg, add the melted butter, vanilla and add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk, cover with topping. Bake about 25 minutes in a 375 degree F. oven.


Blend the flour, sugar, cinnamon with the melted butter and spread over cake. 1/2 cup chopped nuts may be added with the sugar and flour.
