Ingredients:
2 cups white corn meal
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon soda
2 cups boiling water
2 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon drippings, butter or margarine
2 egg yolks, beaten
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together, add boiling water and blend. Add the
drippings, the beaten egg yolks and buttermilk and blend. Fold in egg
whites, lightly, but thoroughly, and bake in a 400-degree F. oven for 40
to 45 minutes, or until set.
