Ingredients: 1 recipe sweet foundation dough Directions: Add raisins or currants and cinnamon with last of flour to dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead until satiny. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled, about 2 hours. When light, punch down, shape into small buns, arrange on a well-greased baking sheet. Brush with egg white beaten with 1 tablespoon of water. Cut a cross on the top of each with a sharp knife, then allow to double in bulk. Bake in a 400-degree F. oven about 20 minutes, or until done. While still warm, fill cross with confectioners' sugar frosting. Makes 3 dozen buns |
