1/2 cup heavy, sweet cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten well
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 orange (juice and rind)
2 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder (rounded)
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring


Prepare as for doughnuts with sour milk. Cook few doughnuts at a time. Turn as the rise to top and several times during cooking. Drain on unglazed paper.
