2/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
3 eggs, separate
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon soda
3 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder


Cream butter, beat in sugar. Add egg yolks and molasses. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with milk. Add beaten egg whites. Fill buttered gem tins 2/3 full. Bake about 20 minutes in 425 degree F. oven.
