Sift with 4 cups flour 3 level teaspoons baking powder, Work thoroughly together 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes and 2 tablespoons lard or drippings. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and add half cup sweet milk or cream.

This should make a dough that will roll out nicely, if not, add a little more milk or flour, which ever is needed. Cut into biscuits and sprinkle with granulated sugar and bake. Eat hot with butter.

White mashed potatoes may be used instead of sweet potatoes, if liked.
