2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla


Combine sugar, salt, cut chocolate and milk in a saucepan. Cook until a few drops will form a soft ball when dropped from a spoon into cold water. Remove from the heat, add butter and vanilla and allow to cool until lukewarm. Beat to spreading consistency. If frosting becomes too thick to spread, add a teaspoon or more of cream and beat thoroughly.
