Ingredients:

2 eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
3/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon soda
2 1/4 cups sifted flour (scant)
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup boiling water

Directions:

Add beaten eggs to sugar, molasses, melted butter. Add sifted dry ingredients, then water. Blend well, bake in square pan about 40 minutes in oven 350 minutes. Serve with whipped cream, little sugar and vanilla, if you wish a simple dessert.
