2 cups sifted pastry flour
2 cups granulated sugar (scant)
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup grated citron


Cream butter, slowly add sugar and mix thoroughly. Then add whole egg one at a time stirring constantly. Sift together flour, cream of tartar and salt. Add to first mixture, beat well. Add vanilla. Bake in well buttered paper lined greased loaf tins about 1 hour in 325 degree F. oven. Use wire cake tester.
