1/2 cup soft butter
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups sifted flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon


Cream butter, add sugar, beat well. Add egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with milk. Beat thoroughly, add beaten egg whites, add vanilla. Bake in 2 well greased tins in oven 375 degrees F., about 25 minutes.
