6 egg whites
few grains salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla


Add salt to egg whites, beat, then add cream of tartar and beaten stiff. Slowly fold in sugar and beat 10 to 15 minutes. Add vinegar, beat, add vanilla. Pour into buttered spring from pan and bake in slow oven, 275 degrees F., 1 hour. Or bake in buttered muffin tins lined with oiled paper 45 minutes in 275 degrees F. oven. When carefully cut off top and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
