Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup cold boiled coffee
1 teaspoon dissolved in 1 cup sour milk
1 1/2 teaspoons orange or vanilla extract
1/2 pound candied orange slices
1/2 cup walnuts

Directions:

Cream the butter thoroughly, slowly beat in the sugar. Sift the dry ingredients 3 times and add alternately with the sour milk and coffee. Add flavoring. Add the finely cut orange slices and nuts blended with a little blended with a little of the flour. Pour into greased, lightly floured loaf tins and bake about 55 minutes to 1 hour in a 350 degree F. oven. Will make 2 loaf cakes. If frosting is desired use seven minute frosting. Reduce recipe 1/2 for 1 loaf.
