1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup crushed pineapple
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 egg whites


Cream butter thoroughly, slowly beat in sugar, add vanilla. Add pineapple and well sifted dry ingredients alternately with water. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in buttered layer tins, about 25 minutes in a 375 degree F. oven.
