Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter or other shortening
1 cup light brown sugar (pack)
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded coconut
1 1/2 cups corn flakes
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups sifted flour

Directions:

Cream the shortening, add sugar gradually, stirring all the time. Add well beaten egg, milk, corn flakes, coconut, and vanilla. Mix and sift dry ingredients and add to the first mixture. Drop from a teaspoon on a well greased pan about 3 inches apart and bake in a moderate oven about 15 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen
