1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla, almond, or lemon flavoring


Cream butter, slowly add sugar, beaten egg yolks. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, flavoring. Blend thoroughly. Chill. Roll on lightly floured board. Brush dough with egg white. Decorate dough with chopped nuts or shredded coconut, bake until light brown. 8 to 10 minutes, 375 degree F. oven.
