Gingersnaps

Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup molasses
4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons ginger
½ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon soda

Directions:

Cream shortening and 2 cups sugar together in bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well. Add molasses, mixing well. Sift remaining ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Shape into tablespoon sized balls. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
