Lemon Wafers

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons baking powder
4 cups sifted flour, scant
1 teaspoon lemon extract
sift flour and baking powder

Directions:

Cream butter, add sugar, well beaten eggs, lemon juice. Add flour. Chill dough. Roll thin, use floured cutter. Bake in moderate oven, 375 degrees F., about 10 minutes. Chopped orange peel may be added to batter. Brush dough with white of egg. Sprinkle dough with granulated sugar just before baking.
