Orange Drop Cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup butter or other shortening
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
4 tablespoons strained orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups sifted pastry flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cut seedless raisins
1 tablespoon water

Directions:

Cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs and beat well. Blend all the ingredients thoroughly and drop by teaspoon on a buttered cookie sheet and bake in a moderate oven, 375 degrees F., about 12 minutes.
