Mix sugar, butter, peanut butter, egg and vanilla until fluffy. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, cream of tartar, and cinnamon. Shape dough by teaspoonfuls into 1 inch balls. Place on baking sheet; press thumb firmly into center of each. Bake until set, 12-15 minutes. Remove from baking sheet, cool. Just before serving, fill center with jelly. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies
