3 dozen lady fingers
6 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
5 eggs
a little salt
whipped cream


Put water, cocoa, sugar in double boiler. When lukewarm stir in well-beaten yolks; when mixture thickens remove from fire. When cold add stiffly beaten egg whites. Line torte pan with lady fingers, sides and bottom, adding layer of cocoa mixture. Chill. Cover with whipped cream before serving.
