Ingredients:

1/2 quart top milk
4 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 pints cream
1 tablespoon flavoring according to taste

1 gallon serves 20
will make 2 quarts

Directions:

Cook in double boiler, beaten eggs, sugar and milk 10 minutes. Let completely cool. Add cream, vanilla. Add more sugar if necessary. 1/3 milk to 1/3 cream when increasing amount. Use hand freezer.
