make a custard of
1 quart cream
1 pint milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
(2 quarts ripe peaches mashed and sweetened)
1 tablespoons vanilla


Beat eggs, stir in sugar, milk and 1/2 cream. Cook in double boiler until mixture thickens as for custard. Chill. Stir in cream, partly freeze, then stir in sweetened strained peaches. Use hand freezer.
