thick applesauce
pie pastry
1 egg yolk

Cut the pastry into large rounds with a saucer. Place on each a tablespoon of applesauce, well sweetened and flavored with cinnamon. Moisten the edges of the crust; fold over, turnover fashion; and pinch together. Place in a baking pan; brush with the beaten egg yolk; and bake about 20 minutes in a hot oven, 400 degrees F.
