butter size of egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup milk
pinch salt
2 egg yolks
1/3 cup chocolate dessert
1 teaspoon vanilla


Mix butter and sugar. Put in skillet and brown. Add milk, chocolate dessert dissolved in additional 1/3 cup milk, and vanilla. Let boil about 3 minutes, then beat in egg yolks. Pour into baked pie crust. Cover pie with meringue made of stiffly beaten egg whites and 3 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Brown lightly.
