Ingredients:

2 pounds lean beef chopped
1 pound suet chopped
5 pounds sour apples chopped
2 1/2 pounds brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon allspice
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound seeded raisins
2 pounds currants
3/4 pound citron, cut fine
1 cup molasses
juice and rind of orange and lemon
1 cup boiled cider
1 teaspoon lemon extract

Directions:

Mix ingredients thoroughly and add enough boiled cider to make right consistency. Heat slowly to boiling point and simmer 1 hour. Add meat and 2 tablespoons currant jelly.
