1 pie dough
2 tablespoons butter
3 to 4 cups prepared mincemeat


Line a 9 inch pie pan with half the pie dough rolled 1/8 inch thick. Fill with mincemeat, dot with butter and cover with remaining pie dough rolled 1/8 inch thick and perforated to allow for the escape of steam.

Trim, seal and crimp the edges and bake in a 450 degree oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake for about 30 minutes longer, or until crust is golden brown.
