Sift sugar, salt and spices together and add to pumpkin mixture. Add milk and blend. Pour into the unbaked pie shell and bake in a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake for about 35 to 40 minutes longer, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack and serve as soon as possible.
