Green Tomato Pickle

Ingredients:

1 peck green tomatoes
12 white onions
vinegar
2 tablespoons celery seed
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 cup mixed spices

Directions:

slice tomatoes and onions. Arrange in layers, sprinkling moderately with salt between layers and let stand overnight. Drain and place in kettle. Cover with mild vinegar and spices. Simmer 10 minutes. Pour into clean, hot jars and seal at once.
