8 ounces elbow or shell macaroni
Cook macaroni, drain thoroughly and rinse with cold water. Add enough tart French dressing to coat the ingredients and season, to taste, with spiced salt. Chill thoroughly. Drain off any excess dressing and combine with the other ingredients, using enough mayonnaise to bind the ingredients together. Season with additional salt, if necessary, and pile into a bowl lined with crisp salad greens. Garnish with pepper rings, egg slices, or wedges of peeled tomato.
