1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup chopped bell pepper
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
2 cups whole tomatoes
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon Paprika
3 pounds frozen party shrimp
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups water


Heat vegetable oil. Add bell pepper, onions and celery. Cook until vegetables are tender. Add tomatoes and cook 3 or 4 minutes more. Add cayenne, paprika, bay leaf, garlic powder, pepper, salt and Water. Simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Add Shrimp and cook 15 minutes more. Mix cornstarch in 1/2 cup water and add to shrimp mixture.

Serve over cooked rice.
