4 eggs, deviled
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
2 cups milk
1/2 pound sharp American cheese
1 8-ounce package medium egg noodles


melt butter in a sauce pan, add flour, seasonings and blend. Add milk and cook and stir until the resulting sauce is smooth and thickened. add 2/3 of the cheese, shredded, and stir over low heat until melted. Meantime, cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender, then drain and rinse. Combine with half the cheese sauce and pour into a shallow buttered baking dish. Nest egg halves in the noodles, cover with remaining cheese sauce and sprinkle remaining grated or shredded cheese over the top. Bake in a 350-degree F. oven about 20 to 25 minutes, or until ingredients are thoroughly heated and until top begins to brown. Serve at once.

Makes 4 to 5 generous servings
