Ingredients:

3 onions, chopped fine
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten

Directions:

Cook onion slowly in melted butter. Add crumbs, sage, salt, pepper, parsley, and water. Fry until lightly brown. Remove from fire and add beaten egg.
