Rhode Island has some historical forts and battlefields that you can visit when you are on vacation or just out to have some fun with the family. They are a great way to get out and learn about our history. The complete story is never taught in schools so it is a good way to help teach your children about what really happened in the early days of our great nation. Besides learning something new they are in most cases a good place to visit and have fun for a few hours. Give yourself time and visit at least one of these old forts and battlefields.
